There is no special name for "dirt patches" - the name does not appear in the game. All I can say is that they are softer dirt than the rest of the dirt because you can dig in them.  :D I do not speak Chinese, so I don't know if "泥泥" is right - google translate says it means "mud" (water + dirt). That's not quite right. "Sand" (砂) would be more correct.

白藻 needed a parameter in the infobox -- |eng = White Algae. On the English wiki, the image name is the same as the page name, so it's not required. In other languages, it is required. According to what you said, the "Dirt Patches" should be soft clay. The word "patches" has the meaning of different parts from the surrounding ones. This method of translation turns an original noun into an incomplete sentence with a mixed noun(水稻) and verb(发芽). Considering the appearance of "Rice Shoots", the Chinese equivalent of "Rice Shoots" is 稻秧 or 稻苗. It is clearly inappropriate to translate it as "sprouting rice" or "rice is sprouting".

After all this tossing around, I think the game has a lot of mistranslations like "Rice Shoots (水稻发芽)". For example: 2 Willow Lane, which should be translated as Willow Lane #2 (柳巷2号). One is the version history of the entry page for "seaweed" is mixed up with the references, and the version history is not displayed properly.

Other is conceptual issues of the relationship between Crab Pot and seaweed. According to the official wiki, the Crab Pot cannot catch seaweed directly, but it can catch seaweed produced in ponds where certain types of fish are kept.

Do I understand correctly? I think the entry "seaweed" has been updated a lot, and some of the sentences about the relationship between crab cages and seaweed are confusing to me (because it doesn't follow standard English grammar).

I've re-added the reference missing from the seaweed page. I looked at the current English page, and didn't use the version history of the Chinese page. I don't think I can change problems with version history!

About the translation errors -- I suspect you are right - the game may have been translated by people who don't speak fluent Chinese. Keep reporting translation errors on the official forums! Many errors have been fixed already, there is a new version of the game coming out soon, so there is a good chance that errors you report will be fixed in the new version.

Seaweed can never be caught in a crab pot. It can be produced in the chum buckets of certain fish ponds where certain types of fish are kept. True, true, true! The types of fish are called "crab pot fish", in this case "crab pot" is used as an adjective. I will fix the link on the English page, so it doesn't link to "Crab pot" and "fish" separately, it will like to crab pot fish as it should. On the Chinese page, the section is 蟹笼鱼类. Does this help? Successfully fixes errors that prevent the display of content by moving the text position. Fixed the logical relationship between seaweed and crab cage and redirected the text link.

Hello BolingH! You forgot what I said about comparing similar pages. If you look at other furniture pages, you can see that they use a different infobox template -- Template:Infobox furniture. The parameter needs to be |image = Purple Serpent Statue for furniture infoboxes.

I've been on the Wiki lately to translate entries more often than I've played Stardew Valley. I'm only in my third spring of play, and many of the things I've encountered on the Wiki are for the first time (first time playing, haven't gotten to the end of the show yet).

It's the the first day of the year when it doesn't rain. Technically, if you don't visit the forest until Winter, it can be snowing, and Trash Bear will appear. So the English wiki says "non-rainy" instead of sunny, since you can't see the sun when it's snowing. To say "Sunny day" is fine.

Please enjoy playing the game! The wiki will still be here for you!

One last thing -- pages don't need self-links, for example [[zh:农场池塘]]. If you click on it, it takes you to the page you are currently viewing. Pages do need links to the other languages, so adding [[en:Farm Pond]] will allow you to go to the Entlish page with one click. I've put this and some other tips on my English user page.

Hello again! There are "mummy levels" in the Skull Cavern (骷髅洞穴) where mummies appear, and the level looks a bit like ancient Egypt. Mummies and Carbon Ghosts only appear in these levels. When you encounter these "mummy levels" in the game, you won't forget them, because they are difficult!  :D At least, for me, I use a staircase to avoid them.

You sign your post with 4 tildes ~~~~. You don't need to type anythning else, the tildes will turn into your username and a timestamp. I think I understand roughly the relationship between 5% and 20%. Mummies have a 5% chance of dropping cloth and an additional 20% chance of dropping cloth. However, I think the trigger conditions for the dropped items should have required some additional information (and possibly some references to the game source code) to explain it in more detail. You're right, you figured it out correctly. There is a 5% chance of dropping cloth and then an additional 20% chance of dropping another cloth. Most monsters can drop more than one of at least one item, so this occurs with all monsters, I think. Kind of a big project to add code references to all monster pages (in all languages) when version 1.5 of the game is going to be released sometime soon. • redirect the page of 鱼籽酱 to 鱼子酱;
• cancel the redirection of hay to animals;
• are the two props mentioned in the "bug" subclause of the mini-game a variation of the original props?

Hi Boling -- I think they are the original props and not variants. You may need to play the mini-game a while before you see them.

Remove any text that is there, and copy/paste from the animals page. Or copy/paste from the English page, translate it, and then delete the duplicate information from the animals page. OK?

Something very close to a chest is called a box(盒子).

I'm a little curious about how the seasonal images on the front page are changed according to the time criteria. Because for the northern hemisphere in the middle and high dimensions, it is already winter in December. "Sprite" refers to the image used in the game. Images are packed into "sprite sheet" image files that waste as little space as possible; the game pulls individual images from sprite sheets and displays them as necessary. So, a sprite change is an image change.

If you look at https://stardewvalleywiki.com/File:Tomato_Seeds.png you should be able to see the image history -- it looks like some tiny dots (pixels) were changed from dark to light in version 1.4. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/File:Fairy_Seeds.png shows that the image got a bit brighter, the colors are more saturated, less gray. A small change, difficult to see unless you look at the images next to each other.

The reason for this is that "Dwarvish (矮人语)" is translated as "dwarf (矮人)". There is a bolded sentence in the description of the gifts that dwarves like. The existing translation is "如果你不明白矮人，友谊将不受礼物的影响。" The English translation of this sentence is "If you do not understand dwarves, friendship will not be affected by gifts." . In this process, the meaning of the original text has not been translated accurately. Theoretically, the translation should be "如果你不懂矮人语，友谊将不受礼物的影响。（If you don't understand Dwarvish, friendship will not be affected by gifts.）" .

Then I found two pages that were conflicting (duplicate content), the Category:游戏设置 and the Category:游戏玩法. According to Wikipedia:Gameplay, Gameplay is the specific way in which players interact with a game, so my suggestion is to remove Category:游戏设置, which in Chinese context generally refers to the game's settings screen and the related control panel, which is somewhat different from the meaning of play(玩法).

Hello Boling! Version 1.5 of the game released on PC today, so I've been a bit busy. Frazzled, stressed-out.  :D

You can create the new category and then delete everything on the old category page and replace it with {{delete}}. I may not delete it right away, but I will get to it eventually.  :)

The incorrect translation is in Template:GiftHeader. You can edit it yourself, I believe in you! Just use ctrl+f to find the incorrect translation and replace it with the correct one, then save it.

You may need to go to the dwarf's page and "edit" and then "save" without making changes to force the page to show the updated translation.

I'm so very glad you are working on the wiki! There are pages still stuck in version 1.2, I think. I can't thank you enough for all your hard work!

I checked the data file for "Fiberglass Rod" and the text says "玻璃纤维棒", so I've created a redirect from that page to the better translation "玻璃纤维鱼竿". It's totally possible that both terms are used in different places in the game (sad face), so we should cover all possibilities on the wiki.

I know that the Chinese translator for version 1.5 wanted to make a LOT of corrections to older content, not just the new stuff. I hope the game translation improves!

I actually don't know if Winter Roots are destroyed by bombs or not. You could easily test on the beach in Winter, set off a bomb and you should get at least a few winter roots, if not a lot. The reason is simple, because the same "Void Egg" and "Void Chicken" are translated as "虚空蛋" and "虚空鸡". It's also a lot of work to catch "powerless salmon", and the original translation doesn't reflect the "powerless" feature. The word "void" in the Chinese-English translation dictionary has the meaning of blank, nothingness. It is also more for the consistency of translation.

I was trying to solve a problem that the Template:ScheduleHeader couldn't be properly called if the input is english word, like{{ScheduleHeader|Spring}} before Wiki's down. I find you have solved that by changing capital letters to lowercase letters. Thank you again but actually i don't understand how can that work because the original version before my editing uses capital letters. And now i find some new problems: I notice that you readded {{Englishdoc}} in both templates' codes and it turns out that (1) in Template:Season there are two usage(用法) at the same time , one from Template:Englishdoc , the other from Template:Season/doc.(2) in Template:ScheduleHeader, the content of Template:ScheduleHeader/doc even cannot show after adding {{Englishdoc}},in a very weird way, which looks like the doc is loaded incorrectly then just suddenly disappears, which is quite confusing to me. Any solutions or ideas?

Hello Fengyue! When you added {{lc{{{1|}}}}} you told the template to read the lower-case version of the 1st parameter. See: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Magic_words#Formatting

The Chinese word for "Algae Soup" is " 海藻汤(Seaweed soup)", which is a name that is easily misunderstood by Chinese players (seaweed and green algae are both algae, but in Chinese they can refer to two completely different things).

My suggestion is to translate it as "藻类汤剂", "藻类汤" or "绿藻汤".

Well, we cannot change the in-game translation, only report translation errors on the official forums. In this case, since the game still calls it "海藻汤", the page has to be named "海藻汤". However, you can always add a note to the page about the translation to clear up confusion. You can add notes to all pages (Algae, Seaweed, and Algae Soup) to help players understand the translation. Asking for moving Modding pages

This is a much bigger problem -- the wiki has a namespace defined for modding, it's a technical thing, and only the existing Admin can change it. We can change pagenames, but the header and footer will be broken, and the pages won't exist in a proper namespace.
